Note: We do receive a few good reviews on yelp, although Yelp staff apparently take them on and off whenever they feel like it. Strange company. You can see those ‘filtered’ reviews at the bottom of this page. We can see them on our business Yelp page, but the public can only sporadically see them and sometimes can see none not all.

We encourage you to shop around, speak with other investigators and do your homework. A warning to the wise – an investigative agency should not be chosen on price alone. There are many factors which determine an investigator’s success such as contacts in the industry, ability to conduct drivers license and vehicle license plate searches, cell phone number searches, property/building ownership, electronic tracking devices, quality of video and photo equipment, evidence submissability for court proceedings, format of final report and video files, and obviously very important is experience. There are many more, but do your research, speak with the investigators that will work your file and make sure you feel confortable that they understand your concerns.
Unfortunately this industry does have a number of ‘individual’ investigators who claim to be an investigative agency. Always confirm the status of their agency license and individual license. They should have full liability insurance as well. In the end, before making a decision it is wise to keep this in mind:
*** There are reasons for low cost services. It may be desparation for work, in which case that should be a red flag warning. In our experience (and our clients that have come to us after going somewhere else first), we have found that low hourly rates do not necessarily mean low overall cost, or even good results. Most of the time in any industry, you get what you pay for.
Note: Always check reviews / testimonials BEFORE deciding to hire an investigative agency. We have have had to ‘fix’ several situations after other investigators/agencies have attempted to work a file. Most investigators will tell you the same thing; it is much easier and cost effective to do an investigation right the first time then to try to fix one that went wrong.4 Filtered Yelp Reviews for Canadian Special Investigations

Canadian Special Investigations is an excellent company for surveillance. One of my clients was vacationing across the border in the metro Toronto area back in the fall of 2013. She was in a minor accident. It was my client’s fault, however, the other driver claimed to be hurt and unable to work. Our claims department hired CSI to tail the guy. He was observed carrying heavy objects. This helped settle the claim at a minimal but fair amount which was satisfactory to my client and me. Great job CSI! You guys are a real good!

Not bad. I would say they definitely know their stuff, because they found everything I needed to find out. I would have hoped for a little quicker results because I was in a hurry, but we had to wait for some search results to come back first before we could get started. In the end it worked out fine. Nice job.
